Desire to be among the noble men, appreciative of good qualities in other people, always wanting to learn something new, considering his own wife to be the most beautiful lady, always weary of infamy, devotion in Lord Shiva, deriving strength by austerity, having no contacts with wicked people – these are the qualities of noble men. I salute to those people in whom these qualities are found.

Courage during adversity, forgiveness during prosperity, skillful oratory in any assembly, bravery in times of war, delight in living up to the reputation earned, always ready to learn – these are the qualities found naturally in a noble man.

When they do charity they do it in secrecy. They welcome all their guest with enthusiasm. They help people and never talk about that. They tell about the help received in public. They are not very excited about money. They never talk ill about others. I wonder who administered such a strict penance to the noble men.

Charity is the befitting ornament of the hand. Touching the feet of the teacher is befitting for the head. Honestly befits the mouth. Unparalleled valor are the ornaments of the shoulders. A clean occupation is an ornament for the heart. Hearing the best of the learnings is befitting ornament for the ear. It is not the wealth that can decorate you but good qualities like mentioned above.

When prosperous, the minds of the noble men are as soft as a lotus. They are moved by any body’s grief. When there is a calamity on oneself, then they do not wilt. They can make their mind as hard (with resolve to overcome) as mighty rocks…

A drop of water that falls on heated iron stands no chance. You can not even hear it disappear. The same drop looks like a pearl when it falls on a lotus leaf. The same drop when it falls into the ocean as part of rainfall during swathi month, goes into a sea-shell and becomes a pearl. Hence it does not matter where you are born, it is the company you keep that will determine your destiny.

They attain greatness by humility. They exhibit their noble qualities when they speak about other people’s qualities. The accomplish their goals by starting huge enterprises that are beneficial to others. They put up patiently with the wicked people who are so garrulous, always talking abrasively about noble men. Who in this world will not worship men with such great qualities.
